You can talk with people on the net (often called net citizen) in many ways.

By e-mail:

• You can talk with people about specified subject subscribing to a MAILING LIST
• You can talk with people about specified subject inside of NEWSGROUPS

Or in real-time:

• On IRC channels

• If you are on Unix system, you can use TALK
• By means of MUDs
• You can PHONE on the net and use other CLIENTS
• You can talk and see people ont the net by means of cameras: videoconference
