How to use PGP: PGPtray

(PGPtray)

Here you can:

• Encrypt Clipboard when you click on this item, PGP will show you a window containing available public keys in your keyring. In order to encrypt the clipboard's content (remember that here you have to use the clipboard) you have to choose a public key (you can drag and drop the key or double click on it). In case the clipboard is empty, PGP will alert you by means of a window saying 'Clipboard contents could not be obtained'.
• Sign Clipboard when you click on this item, PGP will ask you for a passphrase. In other words you will have to provide your secret passphrase to sign the clipboard's content. In case the clipboard is empty, PGP will alert you by means of a window saying 'Clipboard contents could not be obtained'.
• Encrypt & Sign Clipboard when you click on this item, PGP will show you all available public keys (you have to choose one or more of them) and then it will ask you for your secret passphrase (in order to sign the clipboard's content). In case the clipboard is empty, PGP will alert you by means of a window saying 'Clipboard contents could not be obtained'.
• Decrypt/Verify Clipboard when you click on this item, PGP will ask you to provide your secret passphrase in order to decrypt and/or verify the clipboard's content (for example you could verify a signature contained inside of a plain text. In this case you have to select the signature and copy it into the clipboard).
• Add Key from Clipboard here you can import a publick key into your keyring selecting it from a plain text and copying it into the clipboard. Notice that public or private keys begin with '-----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----' (or '-----BEGIN PGP PRIVATE KEY BLOCK-----' for private keys) and finish with '-----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----' (or '-----END PGP PRIVATE KEY BLOCK-----' for private keys). You have to copy and paste even these beginning and ending lines! In case the clipboard is empty, PGP will alert you by means of a window saying 'Clipboard contents could not be obtained'.
• Edit Clipboard Text if you click on this item you can edit the clipboard's content.
• Empty Clipboard if you click here you will erase the clipboard's content.
• Launch PGPtools just launches the PGPtools program.
• Launch PGPkeys just launches the PGPkeys program.
• PGP Preferences if you click on this item, you can set PGP preferences.
• Help just the PGP's help.
• Exit PGPtray just to shutdown PGP.
