| When you click on 'Configuration' (in the 'Options' menu), you will see this window: You can specify some features. Let's see them... Screen Here you can: - Columns Specify the number of columns on the emulated screen. Max value: 132.
- Lines Specify the number of lines on the emulated screen. Max value: 5000.
- Lines in scroll back Specify the number of lines stored in memory.
- Show Windows caption (the topmost part of all normal Windows, containing the system menu and name of the window), Menu (the normal Windows menu below the caption), Vertical scrollbar (this scrollbar is used to move around in the scroll back buffer), Status line (the grey bar at the bottom of the window).
- Resize Screen If checked, the screen will resize as a result of resize the window.
- Font If checked, the font is resized when the window is resized to try to fill the new area of the screen with an emulated screen size as set in rows/columns. The emulated screen size is not altered. This is useful if the remote side always expect the screen to be of a particular size (i.e. 80x24).
Behaviour When you don't receive any reply for a while, you can say to Ewan to send a CR/LF characters combination (to simulate the 'Enter' key) or F9 or nothing. Besides you can close Ewan every times you disconnect from a site ('Terminate EWAN on disconnect'). Emulation Ewan supports 3 different emulations: DEC-VT100, DEC-VT52 or ANSI. The most used is DEC-VT100. Emulation Options - Map BS to DEL To define the backspace key as a DEL key. So you can delete a character without moving back the cursor.
- Map CR to CR/LF CR means Carriage Return (the cursor goes to the beginning of the line) and LF means Line Feed (the cursor skip a line). Changing CR to CR/LF the cursor will go back to the beginning of the line and will skip a line at the same time.
- Foreground To change the text color.
- Background To change the background color.
- Strip 8th bit To eliminate the stop bit.
- Emulation name To choose an emulation: VT100, VT52, ANSI. Usually VT100 is works fine.
