Internet Error Messages

Bad Request 400

Your browser made an incorrect request to the server. Try again. If you see this error again, there may be a problem with that document. Send a message to the site administrator.

Unauthorized 401

You are not allowed to retrieve the document: the server is expecting some kind of encryption ID from the browser. Perhaps the password you typed is wrong. If you can, try to type your password again.

Forbidden 403

You are not allowed to have the page you've requested. It could also mean that the server isn't properly configured.

Not Found 404

You can get this error message often, because the Internet is not a static world. On the contrary, documents are often moved from original locations.

Therefore, this error means that the document you've requested no longer exists in its original location. Either the document has been moved to another location on the server, or it has been removed entirely from the system. Make sure that the address you typed is correct.

Tip: go back along the URL path and try again. If you can't get this page for example:

http://www.domainname.com/dir/pub/users/page.htm

modify URl so: http://www.domainname.com/dir/pub/users and try again. If you can't get the document yet, try again with: http://www.domainname.com/dir/pub and so on. If you are lucky, you can find correct URL. Otherwise, go to: http://www.domainname.com (home page) and search again. Sometimes this method works...

Internal Error 500

The server was unable to send the HTML document due to an internal (server software) error. This is caused by an improperly configured server. Send a message to the site's administrator.

Not Implemented 501

The server doesn't support the feature you have requested.

Service Temporarily Overloaded 502

The server can't process the request due to a high load. Try again later.

Gateway Timeout 503

This error is caused by the connection timing out, either due to server problems, Net problems, or client problems.

Unable to locate the Server

The server name is incorrect and your browser can't locate the computer you want to connect to. Check the server name in the URL and try again (maybe URL you typed is wrong...).

Network Connection Was Refused by the Server

The server may not be accepting connections, or it may be busy. Try again later.

Too Many Connections - Try Again Later

The server may be busy. Try again later.
