| Building a 3D bar is really simple. Just open a 600x100 pixel image. Using the rectangular selection tool, split the image horizontally so you get the image splitted in 2 exact halves:
(The bottom side is gray to show you the upper selection, but you can choose any color you prefer. In fact I used white as a foreground color and blue as a background color). Now select the flood fill tool and choose linear gradient as a fill style. Then click on Options and set the direction to 0 degree (click on 'OK). Now select the flood fill tool and paint inside of the selection. You will get this:
Now you have to do the same thing with the second half (the grey colored half). Select it (with the rectangular selection tool), select the flood fill tool, click on Options and set the direction to the opposite direction (180 degree). Finally, using the flood fill tool you will get this:
Finally resize your image to 600x10 pixels. You got the bar!
(If you are using Photoshop instead of Paintshop, things don't change. Just you have to use the shading tool (using the linear gradient option) instead of the flood fill tool). |
