If you would like to close Windows with one click, go on reading:
1) right click on the Desktop
2) select New -> Shortcut
3) at the pop-up window enter 'c:\windows\rundll.exe user.exe,exitwindows' (if you are using Windows95, Windows98 or ME) or 'SHUTDOWN -s -t 01' (if you are using Windows XP)
4) click the Next button and name the shortcut 'Stop'
Faster? Right click the new shortcut, go to Properties and press the combination of keys that you prefer (e.g. Ctrl-Q). By pressing them you will be able to shutdown Windows
