Uninstalling old and unused applications is easy in Mac Os X systems. Follow these easy steps:
1) go to /Applications and drag old and unused applications to the Trash (beware: do not delete applications that come with Mac Os X, clear away third party applications only!)
2) if there are old and unused applications in other folders, go to those folders and drag unused applications to the Trash
3) go to ~/Library/Preferences and drag unused applications' .plist files to the Trash (beware: make a backup copy of those .plist files before deleting them!)
if something goes wrong, restore previously saved .plist files (let's say you removed an important .plist file erroneously). Notice that ~ (tilde) is your home directory
