You can set view options for any folder shown by the Finder, of course, but what if you wanted to apply the same kind of view to all folders? You have to set view options folder by folder, unless you take advantages of Automator. ;o)
1) Fire Automator
2) Drag your home folder to an emtpy Automator workflow (the window on the right)
3) Search for the 'Set folder views' action among actions listed on the left
4) Drag it to your workflow
5) Set the view option that you like and check 'Apply changes to sub-folders'
6) Click the run button and wait until Automator stop running
You are done!
