You can spot empty folders size at a glance via the Finder's Calculate Folders Size option.
In case you are wondering whether the Finder can help you spotting empty folders, of course, the answer is yes!
1) Open a new Finder window
2) Select the folder you want to check through
3) Set it to list view (do not forget that!)
4) Click on the Show View option item in the View menu (or just press Command-J)
5) Turn on the Calculate Folder Sizes option
The Finder will calculate all listed folders size
Now click the Size column heading to sort the list by size. Empty folders will be listed on top (or maybe at the bottom) all together!
